Un peu d'histoire...
A l'origine, il s'agit d'un domaine privé de 6 hectares à vocation résidentielle et agricole. La municipalité acquiert cette propriété en 1978 dans le cadre de sa politique d'aménagement de l'espace et confie le projet au service des Espaces verts.

Aujourd'hui
En accédant par l'avenue Jean Monnet, un imposant portail s'ouvre sur deux allées, bordées de marronniers centenaires et de buis, contournant une prairie et enserrant un bassin avec cascade, aboutissant sur une esplanade plantée de feuillus. Au centre de celle-ci se dresse une maison de maître datant de 1875. A l'ouest du parc, on peut trouver une vaste pelouse que coupe un ruisseau, autour de laquelle sont disposées des aires de repos et de jeux. Un vieux lavoir couvert, un grand bassin bordé de plantes aquatiques, peuplé de poissons et de batraciens sont les éléments caractéristiques de cette zone.
Administration et service animation du Museum d'histoire naturelle sont installés depuis quelques mois au parc Saint-Mitre.
Dans le jardin est installé le Planétarium qui organise conférences et animations.

A little history...
Originally, it is a private estate of 6 hectares with residential and agricultural vocation. The municipality acquires this property in 1978 as part of its spatial planning policy and entrusts the project to the service of green spaces.

Today
Accessing the avenue Jean Monnet, an imposing gate opens on two paths, lined with chestnut trees and boxwood, around a meadow and enclosing a pond with waterfall, ending on an esplanade planted with hardwoods. In the center of it stands a mansion dating from 1875. To the west of the park, you can find a large lawn that cuts a stream, around which are arranged rest areas and games. An old covered lavoir, a large basin lined with aquatic plants, populated by fish and amphibians are the characteristic elements of this area.
Administration and animation service of the Museum of Natural History have been installed for a few months at Saint-Miter Park.
In the garden is installed Planetarium which organizes conferences and animations.
