The Church of Saint-Henri des Anses-d'Arlet, bordering the beach, is known as one of the most beautiful sites in Martinique, especially because of its exact alignment with the pontoon.
The first chapel is dedicated to St. Anthony of Padua. The first baptism dates from 1671. A first church replaces the chapel in 1673. In 1762 and 1763, the church is totally burned by the English. It is entirely rebuilt by Henri Larcher.
Partially destroyed by a cyclone, in 1817, it was repaired in 1818 with funds granted by the government. In 1856, one builds the front body and the steeple and in 1874 one adds a sacristy.
In 1956, the municipality had the shell of the enlargement of the church and bell tower redone.
The November 2007 earthquake caused significant cracks in the bell tower and the massive entrance. An intervention has been programmed to restore this one.
Unfortunately this church was hit by Hurricane Dean in 2007, it was totally restored in 2012.

En 1956, la municipalité a fait refaire le gros œuvre de l'agrandissement de l'église et du clocher.
Le séisme de novembre 2007 a engendré d'importantes fissures sur le clocher et le massif d'entrée. Une intervention a été programmée pour restaurer celui-ci.
Malheureusement cette église a été touchée par l'ouragan Dean en 2007, elle a été totalement restaurée à l'identique en 2012.
