The Sculpture Als is also called the Alspigen = The girl from Als.
The sculpture, whic is a present from New Carlsberg Fund, was made in 1951. The fishes at her feet symbolizes that Als is an island, and the basket with fruit, that she is carrying on her shoulders, symbolizes the fertility of the island.
