"Zuerst wenden wir uns dem Titel der Arbeit zu. Identifikationsplastik. Diese riesige Stahlplastik mit ihren Ecken, Kanten, polierten und gebürsteten, ineinander greifenden und aufeinander stoßenden Flächen, ihrer leicht konischen, an eine Säule erinnernden und dennoch absolut abstrakt bleibenden Form soll etwas mit Identifikation zutun haben. Wie soll das funktionieren, wenn man als Betrachter die Plastik nicht einmal selbst als etwas identifizieren kann? Womöglich geht es genau um diese eine Frage: Was soll das eigentlich sein?"

First, we turn to the title of the work. Identification plastic. This huge steel sculpture with its corners, edges, polished and brushed, interlocking and abutting surfaces, their slightly conical, reminiscent of a pillar and yet absolutely abstract form should have something to do with identification. How is this supposed to work if, as a viewer, you can not even identify the sculpture as something? Maybe this is precisely this one question: what is this supposed to be?
