Description architecturale:

Architectural description:

The building, oriented north-south, is composed of a nave and two low sides surmounted by five vaults in basket handle interspersed with arches doubleaux stone. Beautiful expression of the neo-Romanesque style, the facade is organized on three levels separated by slightly projecting bands. The rectangular portal is surmounted by a semicircular tympanum with double voussure adorned with a bas-relief resting on geminated columns. The aisles are embellished with two high niches in cul-de-four houses statues in foot of relatively recent bill. The upper part is decorated with a central rosette and two lateral quatrefoil motifs. Both levels are underlined by Lombard bands. The furniture comes from the Penitents-Blancs church; the high altar was carved in 1735 by Nicolas Missencel, master sculptor in Arles. The bell, comes from this same brotherhood and bears the mention "Baudoin, founder in Marseille, 1819". The bell tower in hexagonal plane which is attached to the choir, is topped with a pyramidal roof where alternate quadrilobed patterns and rows of scales. It is supported by four buttresses and 3 of its faces are pierced with semicircular windows; the other three are adorned with a blind arc. The Maltese cross, which crowned the spire of the bell tower, fell on January 7th, 1922; the one we see today was put in October 1939 after restoration of the bell tower.
