There are three sides of the base of the Broken Column memorial that have inscriptions, but I could only transcribe two, as the third one was too badly stained to read. The one that applies to the Broken Column meaning is for Major Leslie Duncan, and it reads:
 In Loving Memory
	of
    Leslie John
      (MAJOR)
 Beloved Husband of
    Leila Duncan
   Departed this
  life April 16th
 1919 Aged 30 years
  Thy Work is Done

   3rd Bn. A.I.F.
  [crossed rifles]

The other readable side has the following inscription:

 In Loving Memory
	of
  Our Dear Father
    John Duncan
 Died April 9, 1931
   Aged 71 Years
     At Rest

The column is similar to 'Heins', with an angled cross with a wreath sculptured to the column. The memorial has a low (15 cm high) concrete ledge around dirt and dead grass. One side of the memorial has settled (the side of interment) so that the column has a 5° lean to it. While structurally the column is in good condition, the base in particular is quite stained, making it hard to read. Only one 'infill' letter was missing from the inscription.
