Greely NDB YRR - Greely, Ontario, Canada - Ground Based Air Navigation Support Structures on Waymarking.com

Nav Canada maintains this non-directional beacon (NDB) south of the Ottawa International Airport (YOW), on the east side of Old Prescott Road. The beacon broadcasts a low power signal at a frequency of 377 kHz. The broadcast repeats in morse code the letters YRR.

The NDB is 7.9 kilometres from the edge of runway 32 at YOW. This is a busy flight path. There were many flyovers during my photography visit. It must be interesting to live in the community.

Photography on site is a challenge. Without trespassing, the best place to view the beacon tower is from outside the eastern segment of the perimeter fence.
