While it would be great to say that Little Niagara is a secret little swimming hole in Chickasaw National Recreation Area, the reality is that it's easily the most popular attraction here during the warm months.

Chickasaw National Recreation Area is open 24/7, although it is always a good idea to check their
website for any advisories when unusual weather is expected. It's also a pretty good idea to stay out of the water after dark.
Little Niagara is the biggest falls on Travertine Creek, and certainly the best-known. The best time to see it, people-free, is in the spring or fall, but the best time to experience it is in the summer months. It's not terribly deep, but you'll need to work to touch the bottom. There's a lot of parking -- there's overflow parking at the nature center just across the road -- but if you're planning to get a picnic table and spend the day, you'll want to arrive early. It can be pretty crowded, but never to the point that you can't get in for a little swim, and if cold water is your thing -- not an issue when it's 95+ degrees or hotter -- you'll be in for awhile. There's a comfort station here, but be aware that there's no lifeguard on duty.
