White granite marker located near the northeast corner of Victoria Hall/Cobourg Town Hall. The marker commemorates Mr. Tom MacMillan, 1935 - 2013 who served the good folks of Cobourg in many capacities over the years.
He is perhaps best remembered as the Town Crier of Cobourg, but he also served as the Drum Major of the Cobourg Concert Band, and as an Ambassador for the Town. He also volunteed with several other community organizations.
Marker text reads:
Oyez, Oyez, Oyez.
Milords, Miladies
Let it be known far and wide,
Absent in body, but not in spirit
forever present in the
Town of Cobourg.

The length of life is not what

Tom was a man of great
character whose passion and
caring spirit brought out
the best in those around him.
Countless are the moments,
memories and minutes that
we have had with him.
A renowned Town Crier,
outstanding Drum Major of
the Concert Band of Cobourg,
and Volunteer Extraordinaire,
he was a person cherished by
many.
