The Plaza movie theatre built in 1966 by Joe Hackney replaced the first theatre that burned in 1965. The theatre closed in 1996 and is now the Canton Plaza Museum.

In addition to the Plaza Museum, this old theatre is host to the Chamber of Commerce, the Canton Visitor Center, the Economic Development Corporation, and the Canton Main Street offices.
