The Elbe [CZ: Labe] is the one of largest river in the Czech Republic. At the same time, it is the most important water route for big sail.
The River Elbe
It is one of the longest rivers in Europe. It has its source in The Giant Mountains in the north of Bohemia, runs through Germany and empties by estuary into The North Sea. It is almost the only Czech river whose gender is not feminine (in The German language, however, it is feminine). It is 1154 km long (in Bohemia 358,3).
The River Cidlina
Cidlina draining south from its source in Tábor hill near Lomnice nad Popelkou through Jicín, Nový Bydžov and Chlumec nad Cidlinou, merging with the Elbe at Libice nad Cidlinou. Cidlina is 87.3 kilometers long, its drainage area covers 1,164 km² and average discharge is 4.66 m³/s.
