The views are of looking towards Newcastle (and Maitland), ie, to the east and south. There is not a great elevation here, only about 45 metres ASL, but the land of Hunter Valley is quite flat, so you can see a great distance to the southeast.
No BBQ facilities, but there are three covered picnic tables, with a nearby shade sail covered playground. There are rubbish bins in the car park.
There are also toilets, which are open in daylight hours. Interestingly, there is a Trigonometric Station on top of the toilet block. It is rather hard to get a one-on-one photo of it, unless you have 'a monkey' with you!
