[DE] Die St.Martinsquelle in Bassenheim ist im europäischen Quellenatlas aufgeführt.
"Im Volksmund heißt er der "Bur" und gilt als eines der Wahrzeichen von Bassenheim. Die "St. Martinsquelle", so der richtige Name des eisenhaltigen Sauerbrunnens, ist 1742 erstmals gefasst worden und steht seitdem der Bevölkerung als wertvolles Trinkwasser kostenlos zur Verfügung.
Der heutige zierliche Brunnenpavillon mit seinen gusseisernen Säulen ist 1890 von Freiherr Heinrich von Kusserow, der eine Adoptivtochter des Ehepaares Abraham von Oppenheim geheiratet hatte, errichtet worden. Als das Wellblech der achteckigen Brunnenstube in Bodennähe zu verrotten begann, erhielt das Bauwerk 1952 ein 35cm dickes und 75cm hohes Sockelmauerwerk. 1985 hat die Gemeinde das gesamte Burggelände von der Waldthausen'schen Verwaltung gekauft. Bei der Sanierung 1986 wurde die Sockelmauer entfernt und der ursprüngliche Zustand durch neue Wellbleche, die von Hand erarbeitet werden mussten, wieder hergestellt. So ist der Brunnenpavillon in seiner Schönheit wiedererstanden.
Der Sauerbrunnen wird regelmäßig analysiert und auf Schadstoffe untersucht. Das Wasser ist nach Meinung von Fachleuten gesund und hat eine hervorragende Qualität.

Today's petite fountain pavilion with its cast-iron columns was built in 1890 by Freiherr Heinrich von Kusserow, who had married an adopted daughter of the couple Abraham von Oppenheim. When the corrugated iron of the octagonal well room began to rot near the ground, the building received in 1952 a 35cm thick and 75cm high base masonry. In 1985, the municipality bought the entire castle grounds from the Waldthausen administration. During renovation in 1986, the plinth wall was removed and the original state restored by new corrugated sheets, which had to be worked by hand. So the fountain pavilion has been resurrected in its beauty.
The sour well is regularly analyzed and examined for harmful substances. According to experts, the water is healthy and of excellent quality.
