Der Aachener Weihnachtsmarkt ist einer der schönsten und beliebstesten Weihnachtsmärkte Deutschlands. Aufgrund seiner grenznahen Lage ist er insbesondere auch bei holländischen und belgischen Touristen ein begehrtes Ziel, da es dort Weihnachtsmärkte dieser Art kaum gibt.

Der Markt befindet sich im Stadtzentrum auf dem Marktplatz, dem Katschhof (dem Platz zwischen Rathaus und Dom) und dem Münsterplatz. 2017 wird an insgesamt 130 Ständen neben Essen und Trinken vor allem Kunsthandwerk, Dekoartikel, Geschenke und Spielwaren angeboten. Zwei Karussells versüßen den kleinsten Besuchern den Aufenthalt ebenso wie das angebotene Kinderprogramm. Auf einer Bühne treten täglich Bands und Orchester mit weihnachtlichen und nicht-weihnachtlichen Liedern auf.

Wird es dunkel in Aachen, verbreiten abertausende Lichter eine weihnachtliche Stimmung auf dem Weihnachtsmarkt. Auf dem Marktplatz ist ein großer Weihnachtsbaum aufgebaut, auf dem Katschhof ein riesiger, beleuchteter Printenmann. Der Printenmann ist das Wahrzeichen des Weihnachtsmarktes, da die exklusiv hier hergestellten Aachener Printen insbesondere als Weihnachtsleckerei weltweit bekannt und beliebt sind.
The Christmas Market of Aachen is one of the most beautiful and popular Christmas markets in Germany. Due to its location close to the border, it is a sought after destination, especially among Dutch and Belgian tourists, as there are hardly any Christmas markets of this kind there.

The market is located in the city center at the plazas Marktplatz, Katschhof (the square between the town hall and the cathedral) and Münsterplatz. In 2017, a total of 130 stalls will be offering food and drink, as well as handicrafts, decorative items, gifts and toys. Two carousels sweeten the smallest visitors the stay as well as the offered children's program. On a stage, bands and orchestras perform daily with Christmas and non-Christmas songs.

When it gets dark in Aachen, thousands of lights spread a Christmas mood on the market. On the Marktplatz, a large Christmas tree is built, on the Katschhof a huge, illuminated "Printenmann". "Aachener Printen" are a kind of ginger bread produced exclusively here in Aachen and known wordwide as Christmas delight. Thus, the "Printenmann", a figure made from these Printen, has been established as a symbol of the Christmas market of Aachen.
