John Allen 3rd is buried along with his father John Allen 2nd. Their grave is marked by a brownstone headstone that has the image of a winged angel in the lunette. The gravestone is inscribed:

Mr. John Allen, 2d
who died May 15, 1772
in the 33 year
of his age.
also Mr. John Allen 3d
who was killed at Horse
Neck by a party of Refugee

May 23 1780 in the 19
year of his age.
Our rest together is in the dust.

Horse Neck is a tract of land in present day Greenwich, CT.
