Quick Description: A Civil War monument was erected by the town of Warwick to honor the soldiers from the town who fell during the Civil War. It is located in Warwick Cemetery on SR 78, Orange Road, just south of the center of town.

Long Description:

A 25' by 4' square granite monument has and octagonal column with a flame at the top and set on a square base with inscribed dadoes on each side. The monument was erected on November 22, 1866.

The dado on the east side is inscribed with the dedication in raised letters:

IN MEMORY OF
WARWICK'S
SOLDIERS
WHO FELL
IN THE WAR OF
THE GREAT
REBELLION.

The bottom of the monument is inscribed in incised letters:

ALEXANDER COOPER
CO. C. 36 REG. MASS. VOL.
KILLED BY FALLING OF THE DERRICK WHILE RAISING THIS STONE
NOV. 22, 1866

The dado on the north side is inscribed with six names:

LAFAYETTE NELSON.
JAMES M. CHAPIN.
FRANCIS L. MOORE.
FREDERIC A. WILLIAMS.
BENJAMIN HASTINGS.
SETH A. WOODWARD.
JOSEPH W. ELLIS.

The dado on the west north side is inscribed with nine names:

LEANDER S. JILLSON.
J. HENRY FULLER.
FRANKLIN PIERCE.
JOHN B. CALDWELL.
EBENEZER GOODWIN.
CHARLES A. JONES.
WILLARD PACKARD.
JOSEPH W. SAWYER.

The dado on the south side is inscribed with nine names:

WILLIAM H. LAWRENCE.

MUNROE L.B. PATRIDGE.

JACOB S. RAYNER, JR.
