The survey monument is at the north west corner of the intersection of W. South Temple and S. Main St. This maker now marks the south east corner of the property of the LDS Salt Lake Temple.
Taken from the guidebook, "A. The GREAT SALT LAKE BASE AND MERIDIAN STONE, without the wall at the southeast corner of the square, was fixed on the spot designed by Orson Pratt in 1847, when he began the original survey of Great Salt Lake. Inside the wall, about fifty feet northwest, is a sandstone marker indicating the U.S. Meridian line established by the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey in 1869." -- Utah: A Guide to the State
