One of the few surviving traditional restaurants in Innsbruck goes back to the core of a late Gothic building from the 16th century in the typical Inn-Salzach style. In 1927 and 1937 it was carefully rebuilt according to plans by Franz Baumann. The façade of the six-storey building has round-arched arbor openings, a separate rectangular bay window over three floors, which merges into a balcony on the fourth floor, and earthquake piers. The facade was redesigned in 1937 and decorated by Erich Torggler with fresco motifs from the hospitality industry. The guest rooms as well as furniture and equipment details such as lights, wall shelves, doors and door handles were uniformly designed by Franz Baumann.
We had a good meal at the Weinhaus Happ terrace when we visited Innsbruck in September 2017.
