The Museum of Chocolate and Marzipan is situated in the historical centre of the municipality of Tábor, established in 1420, being the seat to the radical wing of the Hussites troops (More about the Tabor).

The Museum was founded in 2012 and opened on 5th September 2012. Thanks to the support from the EU sources, the Museum is conceived majestically, being situated on the total surface area exceeding 1.000 m2. It presents the history of growing cocoa beans, processing them and making chocolate and marzipan. The Museum also offers its visitors to see the interactive exposition where you can see historical packages from all over the world, chocolate dishes and/or small boxes for sweets.

V prostorách trech historických domu, na ploše pres 1000 m2 poznáte, kde se vlastne cokoláda vzala, jak se pestují kakaové boby a jak se následne zpracovávají do formy bonbonu, tabulek, pralinek a figurek. Prohlédnete si také historické obaly a reklamní plakáty a porcelánové soupravy, ze kterých se cokoláda pila v 19. století.

Druhá cást muzea je venována marcipánu a možnostem jeho zpracování. Uvidíte marcipánový model námestí a dalších táborských dominant, marcipánové modely pohádek, šaticky pro panenky.

V kinosále jsou pripraveny filmy o cokoláde a odborníky cukráre mužete pozorovat okénkem prímo z cokolatérie, kde proudí cokoláda ve fontáne. Deti si užijí certovskou zábavu v pohádkovém sklepe a pro všechny hravé ruce je stálá dílna, kde sami mužete odlévat cokoládové figurky, ci pracovat s marcipánem. Nechybí ani obchod s originálními suvenýry.
