A flag pole and landscaped area at Lake El Reno honoring El Reno resident Dorothy Whipple. The memorial is painted to resemble the American flag.

This triangular shaped, landscaped area is placed in honor of Dorothy Whipple. It is located on the east side of Lake El Reno, at the end of Elm. According to her obituary, Dorothy was an active member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary and was very active in her community. She became a Gold Star Mother after losing her son Joe in the Vietnam War. Attached below is a link to read the full obituary of this amazing woman.

The yellow plaque attached to the flag pole reads:
