Emmausweg - A steel sculpture at the Paul Gerhardt Church by Bernadette Hörder in Norderstedt, Schleswig-Holstein. Situated: 2011.
Description
The bright red lacquered steel plate stands in sign-like clarity upright next to the entrance to the Paul Gerhardt Church in Norderstedt. The Karlsruhe sculptor Bernadette Hörder designed a very reduced object, which shows a not directly running way. But also by this detour the goal is reached, a stylized house in the upper third of the stele. The same theme takes up a second stele, which stands a few kilometers away at the Christuskirche and varies the route. The recessed areas of the steel plate, which mark the way and the house, allow the view through the massive slab and give it an optimistic lightness.
