Originally a Baroque palace called Vernier, built around 1697. A hundred years later (1797), it was rebuilt in classicist style. Between 1875 and 1945, German-speaking Praagens used it for their social and political events, and the whole palace, where there were restaurants, gambling, casino or billiards, was known as the Deutsches Casino.
