In 1898, this Gothic revival building was designed and built by Tom Hodges, who served as the architect on several public buildings in Lockhart.

The two-story red brick building, highlighted by buff brick trim, displays Gothic Revival details. Dominating the northeast corner of the building, the belfry contains a large Gothic arched, double door main entry on the north side, triple lancet arches with wooden louvers at the second level, and a pyramidal roof.
