The oldest CoA of the Old Town is located at the castle in Lauf u Nuremberg. The Gothic figure with silver walls is depicted on the Old Town Bridge Tower. The Town Emblem promoted the golden walls of Frederick III. in 1475 (used by Josef Mánes in the Old Town Astronomical Clock), and Ferdinand III in 1649 supplemented the armed arm to the emblem for the heroic and successful defense of the town at the end of the Thirty Years' War.
