Information on display:

In March 1886 a man named J.P. Murphy came to Itasca and started a newspaper called "The Alliance Mail". It grew over time and eventually the name was changed to "Itasca Mail".

It grew some more, and finally became known as the "Itasca Item", which chronicled the events of "The Big Little Town" of Itasca.
