In New Shoreham (Block Island)'s center is a port for ferries arriving from the mainland.

The port is located in the Old Harbor section, on the east side of the island. At this location are several buildings related to the ferry and a road that ends at the shore where cars may drive onto the ferry boat. There is also a large asphalt area where cars wait in lines.

The terminal is the end point for several ferries. Availability depends on the season. After Columbus Day, the only ferry, and the only ferry that can transport vehicles, is the one between Block Island and Port Galilee/Point Judith. Other ferry ports include Newport, RI; Fall River, Mass.; and New London, CT.

The facilities at the terminal are rather sparse. There is restroom facilities on the opposite side of the asphalt area and there is a chamber of commerce information center nearby. Across the street are gift shops and restaurants.
