It is ONE thing to check out this sign, and another to go for the 12 km walk to Mount Hotham - ONE WAY, which you could expect to take 3 to 4 hours. As mentioned, this is not the start of the Trail, but it shows how to get to the start, which is near the entry to Dinner Plain Village, from the Great Alpine Road, just a short distance away.
There is plenty of Aboriginal culture and heritage to learn along the walk, with a couple of old cattlemen's huts along the way for emergency shelter if a storm blows in.
