The double locking lock, named Oude Sluis or Vaartse Sluis, was designed in the 1821-1824 design of Jan Blanken, replacing an elder, and consists of the following parts, counted from the river Lek: sluice cloud with masonry brick walls, with on both sides of broad bricks descending into the water.
In the walls on both sides, six hard-rocked swings. The columns are on the river and the comforters by elevated sluices, accessible by means of hardstone staircases. Both heads are fitted with a pair of wooden point doors facing the leek and scoreboards.
The northern doors are fitted with wooden slides. Over the northern (middle) lockhead a double lift bridge. Retaining walls on the lek side of the lock, in which embedded hard stones are a weapon of stone. Sluiskom, with masonry brick walls, with bricks running towards the sides of both sides, as in the sluice. In the murn on both sides twelve hard rocked merges.
In the northern head the lock doors are no longer present, but the scotch deposits. Overlook a double wooden pickup bridge. Next to the water side comes an iron balustrade. At the river side at the top of the head a wooden bat.
