Will Rogers Airport Hangar #3 - Oklahoma City, OK - WPA Projects on Waymarking.com

Hangar #3 is a large two-story building with a barrel roof. Pilasters at each corner, and to either side of the large aircraft doors on the north and south are brick, and we surmise that the entire building may be brick. The side walls, however, have been covered with a type of foam board, painted white with a wide blue horizontal stripe.

We would never have identified this as WPA construction. It does, however, appear on the website of the Oklahoma Historical Society's State Historical Preservation Office. The report is WPA Resources / Oklahoma City (Region 6), and appears on Page 38 as Item No. 24.

The building is currently in use by AAR Corporation who provide services for general aviation (fuel, maintenance, repair). The hangar is addressed 6501 S. Meridian.
