"US ARMY HONEST JOHN
The Honest John was a free-flight surface to air missile. It was one of the Army’s early efforts, and its guidance system was primitive – basically just aim-and-shoot, like most standard artillery weapons.
First deployed in 1953, it had a range of 15 to 30 miles and could be carried on a self-propelled mobile launcher.
The Honest John is no longer in the Army’s inventory.
