Lost in a corner of Saintes, between the Saint-Vivien church and the cemetery of the same name, the remains of these Gallo-Roman baths date from the second half of the 1st century. They would have been built at the time of the splendor of Mediolanum in a second phase of extension of the urban fabric.
The remains are located in the area of hot baths (the caldarium), powered by an aqueduct. Sarcophagi, from the early Christian necropolis established on this site from the fourth century, are also presented to the public.
