The City of Walnut Creek Open Space division manages over 3000 acres of Open Space in four unique areas and over seven miles of neighborhood trails. These areas have been set aside to preserve natural resources, protect wildlife habitat and corridors, and provide recreation opportunities. Acalanes Ridge Open Space is one of this areas.

I accessed this area from the Bacon Way Entrance, where the coordinates are. This entrance can be seen in Google Street View. The trail goes up for a quarter mile or so and reaches a ridge line trail. The trail takes one by an old Airmail Navigation Arrow. One can see the Carquinez Strait and delta to the north and Mount Diablo to the southeast.
