This solitary chimney is the remaining part of what was once a sawmill at Grundcruie, a mile west of the Perthshire village of Methven.
Opened in 1893, the sawmill lasted until 1912, when it moved to new premises in Methven itself.
Now all that stands is the sawmill chimney, a red brick construction, in a field. It can be found alongside the minor road which leaves Methven to the west, bound for Glen Almond. After a mile or so it comes into view on the northern side of the road. Although on private land, it can be easily reached as it stands only a few yards from the road within a field of green pasture.
