Because of divided roads in the area, you would need to be heading north on Lord Street to enter from the eastern side; or travelling west on Gordon Street - towards the Swimming Pool, to enter from the northern side of the car park.
From personal communication, with the Secretary of Players Theatre Inc., the Theatre company was established in 1962, under the name of "The Little Theatre Company"; eventually renamed as "The Players Theatre Inc."
The building was designed by one of the original members, Terry Gould, who was a concrete engineer. While work began on the building in 1975, there was some budget/interest rates constraints, and with some help from a government grant, completed in 1979.
"The stage is a Proscenium stage with a thrust and is roughly 10m x 8m. The thrust was originally removable to create an orchestra pit. We have 6 tracks that run the full width of the stage and wings in order to be able to slide flats on and off."

"The Players Theatre Inc. owns and operates the Players Theatre. This superb, 230 seat venue not only provides first class entertainment for residents of the Port Macquarie and Hastings region, but enables the community to be involved and experience all facets of theatre- including acting, directing, set design, stage construction, make-up and costuming.
"The 'Players' have been active for over 50 years, consistently staging 5-6 productions annually- ranging from drama, comedy, musical and pantomime."
From the sign on Gordon Street, they had been running 'Funky… Spunky… "Spamalot!" Friday and Saturdays at 8pm; and Saturday and Sundays at 2pm.
