"MEMORIAL WINDOW TO REV. J. H. AUDLAND
DEDICATION IN PARISH CHURCH

A large and representative congregation assembled at Dinton Church for the morning service on Sunday, when a window in the south transept of the church was dedicated as a memorial to the late Rev. John Heslop Audland, M.A. The dedication was performed by a life-long friend of the late Mr Audland, the Rev. Canon W. H. Kewley.
The window consists of a medallion containing the coat of arms of the family.
Underneath this si the motto, “Firmus et Intrepidus,” and below this the inscription:

To the memory of the Rev. John Heslop Audland, M.A., Vicar of Dinton, 1886-1923.
Dr Audland, a brother, who was present, gave the window. There were also present Major and Mrs Audland and two nieces, besides other relatives.
Canon Kelwy, in a very appropriate address, spoke of Mr Audland’s career previous to his coming to Dinton, and then of his long and faithful ministry of 37 years as Vicar of Dinton and Teffont Magna (1886-1923), and of his 25 years as Rural Dean of Chalke (1898-1923); also of his work as an Inspector of religious instruction in the schools of the Diocese.
The present Vicar (Rev. R. H. B. Campbell) states that among the older people in Dinton parish Mr Audland’s work is remembered with gratitude and his character honoured with reverence."
