Giles's Home
Five miles southwest is the wig-
wam, the home of William B. Giles,
Jefferson's chief lieutenant; United
States Senator, 1804-1815, and Gov-
ernor of Virginia, 1827-1830, an ora-
tor and famous political leader.
Giles died there, December 4, 1830.
