The Castle pub is a traditional city pub located opposite the gatehouse of Nottingham Castle. (formerly Fletcher and Firkin)
The Castle pub has a hanging pub sign. It has a modern simplistic design that depicts black castle in the bottom left hand corner with THE CASTLE in black lettering to the top right hand side set on a cream background.
The building was designed in 1883 by Watson Fothergill and was originally called 'Mortimer House'. It is a Grade II listed building. (

The Castle has a rustic exterior blended with an inner city bar-style interior.
The small, square stained glass window depicts Robin Hood and Maid Marion next to a tree with a castle to the side. Beneath this window the words;
'The Old Castle Inn

There is also a stained glass window depicting Robin Hood with a castle and a deer above the door to the pub.
