This Harris County Control District benchmark reference disc is embedded in the concrete sidewalk on the South side of a bridge crossing the White Oak Bayou watershed on West Rd, just .8mi East of Jones Rd. The monument is a few inches north of the sidewalk's protective wall, and equidistant from either end of the bridge span. It is situated on top of the deepest end of the stream at the bridge intersection.
The "E 100" stamping stands for "Stream# E100-00-00", one of the streams within the flood district being surveyed and maintained by Harris County; the "BM 21" designation simply states that this is the 21st benchmark on this particular stream.
