In 1916 woonden nog een paar mensen in Staden. De rest was gevlucht voor oorlogsgeweld vooral naar Frankrijk. Staden was belegerd door Duitse soldaten.In het winkeltje op de hoek werd allerlei verkocht voor de soldaten : postkaarten, kledij, knopen, tabak...

In 1916 only a few people lived in Staden. The rest had fled for war violence mainly to France. Staden was occupied by German soldiers. In the shop at the cornersoldiers could buy nessevery things like: postcards, clothes, buttons, tobacco ...
