Three hardwood 'telegraph poles' had been used as stringers to directly support the hardwood cross-slabs that the long wooden slats of the decking are bolted to. There was a slightly raised (no more than 15 cm) wooden edge to provide a minimal amount of safety from accidentally veering off the side of the Plank Bridge.
The abutments had further wooden retaining walls directly under the single continuous span bridge on Poddy Creek Road.
Access: I had been trying to find my way to a particular Geocache: (
visit link) , but found that it was 'blocked off' due to a High Fire Danger risk. A bit of a shame, as I was prepared to walk the distance from the turn-off.
