Burg Lichtenberg as pilgrimage station of the Sternenweg.

The Lichtenberg castle in Thallichtenberg, Rhineland-Palatinate, belongs to the pilgrimage stations on the so-called "Sternenweg", according to the name of the Way of St. James in the Greater Region. Regional Director Peter Gillo and Dr. Winfried Hirschberger, District Administrator of the Kusel district, have jointly unveiled a Jakobsmuschelstein as well as a hintsafel. Lichtenberg Castle is one of the largest surviving medieval castles in Germany and is located directly on the Way of St. James from Mainz via St. Wendel and Saarbrücken to Metz. On the spot pilgrims can stay, as well as meals, a pilgrimage stamp and information about the pilgrimage.
