On the patio of the ranger station you can use these binoculars for an investment of 25 cents. They are trained on Picacho Peak which is a granite topped pile of volcanic rock. Using the binoculars is a safer approach than climbing the peak which rises from 1850' to 3300' and requires hanging on to a cable for safety. The binoculars will give an up-close view of the sonoran desert topography and plant life.
