The grave site is very elaborate. There is an upper stone tablet with an inscription that is very difficult to read. Along the bottom of this upper stone tablet are two hourglasses each resting atop a skull & crossbones. Beneath this stone tablet is another smaller one with the following inscription:
HEIR IS BURIED JEAN
LAUDER ELDEST
DAUGHTER TO THE
LAIRD OF HALTOUNE
LADY CALDERHAL WHO
DYED ON THE 2DAY
OF JULY 1672
