Culture Now

This colorful mosaic, which decorates the walls of a municipal swimming pool equipment shed, is created from recycled mirrors and tiles hand-made by the artist and members of the neighborhood around the park.

The lush imagery incorporates rambling cherry trees, floral motifs (especially roses), and a pair of magnificent pink flamingos. The many tiles that comprise the mural tell personal stories of neighborhood residents. The mosaic was donated by the Friends of Patterson Park
