There's the building of the local Red Cross (Rotes Kreuz) 'Rettungswache' (ambulance station) - DRK Kreisverband, located in Ulm, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
The German Red Cross has in Ulm and the Alb-Donau-Kreis four ambulance stations to ensure the supply of the population with a medical emergency. The ambulance station at the 'Stuttgarter Str.' is the biggest one and was commissioned in 2009 after just one year of construction period. The vehicle hall can accommodate 20 vehicles. It is the largest rescue guard in the county and is also the seat of the management.
On 1st floor of an emergency medical care, the social spaces of the emergency services are housed: lounge with kitchen, rest rooms, changing rooms and showers for men and women. On 2nd floor of an emergency medical rescue service line, the rescue station line, the management, the quality manager and a large lecture hall are housed.
The 'Rettungswache Ulm' is part of the national red cross community (DRK) as defined by the Geneva Conventions, with its communities (preparedness, water security, social work and youth red cross) and local associations.
The local associations make an indispensable contribution to the red cross, their further development and the continuity is very important for the future of the DRK in the honorary office.
