The 7,30-meter high sculpture for 975 kg represents a rugby ball (ellipsoid) formed by a set of rings that rest on each other as in a melee. The rings that make up the rugby ball are a representation of team spirit. They are also a wink to the tire and symbolize Michelin's support for Rugby and in particular the ASM.
The work "Transfomation" is made of stainless steel. Weather-resistant and maintenance-free material. The pieces are cut with a laser according to the plans provided by the artist in 3 and 2 mm plates, curved and welded in the workshop. The work is assembled in the workshop in 3 or 4 parts allowing transport by road. The final assembly is carried out at the installation site.
La sculpture de 7,30 mètres de haut pour 975 kg représente un ballon de rugby (ellipsoïde) formé par un ensemble d’anneaux qui s’appuient les uns sur les autres comme dans une mêlée. Les anneaux qui forment le ballon de rugby sont une représentation de l’esprit d’équipe. Elles sont aussi un clin d’œil au pneumatique et symbolisent le soutien de Michelin au Rugby et en particulier à l’ASM.
L’œuvre « Transfomation » est réalisée en acier inoxydable. Matériel résistant aux intempéries et ne nécessitant pas de maintenance. Les pièces sont découpées avec un laser selon les plans fournis par l’artiste dans des plaques de 3 et 2 mm, courbées et soudées dans l’atelier. L’œuvre est assemblée dans l’atelier en 3 ou 4 parties permettant le transport par la route. L’assemblage final est réalisé sur le site d’installation.
