In 2000, Lindsborg decided to cast the traditional Dala shape in large fiberglass forms – an idea patterned after Chicago’s cows on Michigan avenue. Local people and folks with Lindsborg connections sponsor each Wild Dala. Each is unconventionally decorated by one on the towns many local artists. Each new horse is feted in a public unveiling party complete with street theater and parody songs sung by the crowd.

This blue horse is named Hello, Dala!. You will find the Lindsborg artists love plays on words. This title comes from the musical Hello, Dolly! The side of the horse shows a nearby band shell called the Swensson Park Band Shell built in 1935. The Friends of Broadway RFD who funded this horse started in 1959. They organize local plays. On the other side of the horse a raised curtain reveals a stage with comedy and tragedy masks.
