"Le Pont du Diable
Le Pont du Diable , perché à 20 mètres au dessus de l’Ardèche, est un détour obligatoire lors de votre découverte de l’Ardèche. Baignades et randonnées vous y attendent dans un décor tout bonnement idyllique.
Pont du Diable, un petit pont dans un paysage grandiose
Le Pont du Diable, ThueytsSitué tout près du village de Thueyts, au cœur du Parc Naturel Régional des Monts d’Ardèche, le Pont du Diable n’a d’effrayant que le nom.
En effet, ce modeste pont de pierres au tablier arc-bouté offre au visiteur l’occasion d’admirer les coulées basaltiques et autres concrétions calcaires aux formes surprenantes, manifestation de l’activité chaotique des jeunes volcans de l’Ardèche.
On mesure à quel point du tous temps, rejoindre les deux rives de l’Ardèche fut parfois difficile.
Baignade et rando au Pont du Diable
Le Pont du Diable est un coin de baignade réputé. L’eau y est limpide, d’un bleu-vert étonnant, et la petite plage tout à fait magnifique. L’eau y est un peu fraiche mais les baigneurs apprécient ce coin de rivière unique.
Nombreux sont celles et ceux qui tentent le grand saut : le Pont du Diable enjambe l’Ardèche à 20 mètres au dessus de l’eau. Sauter du Pont du Diable est un véritable défi que se fixent chaque année de nombreux baigneurs téméraires.
Ne tentez pas le grand saut sans précaution, les accidents arrivent malheureusement.
Des échelles arrimées à la roche permettent au randonneur curieux d’accéder sans encombre à ce site incontournable et prodigieux. Un sentier de rando vous emmène, depuis le Pont du Diable, vers des paysages somptueux, entre cascades et coulées basaltiques.
Légende du Pont du Diable
Le pont du Diable fut construit, d’après la légende, par le Diable qui souhaitait malicieusement permettre aux garçons et filles de Thueyts de se retrouver. Celles-ci y ont perdu leurs âmes et on dit que les les jours de grand vent, on entend depuis le Pont du Diable les cris et lamentations des jeunes filles de Thueyts repenties.
selon la légende, le Diable ne se contenta pas de son pouvoir sur le Pont du Diable, il l’étendit au gouffre et au rocher.
