Jackson Conoco Service Station was placed on the National Register in 2004. At that time, the overhead doors were still intact and it was operated by El Reno Motors. Today, it is freshly painted, the overhead doors have been filled in, and the building houses a donut shop.
This is a one-story white glazed brick building, constructed in 1934 with a larger addition to the south constructed in 1964. It has a steep cross-gabled roof. The multi-pane metal windows have brick sills and lintels. The overhead doors have been filled with wood paneling and pedestrian entrances. The original 8 x 10 office area on the north has a deeper and wider section just to the south, giving the original building a T-shape. In 1964, as service station usage changed and additional repair areas were needed, a larger addition was added on the south, with two overhead service doors. The construction of the addition well matches the original, and forms a blended unit.
The station was in operation until the 1990s. After falling into some disrepair, it has been renovated, painted and with its bright yellow trim has a pleasant appearance and makes a nice home for the donut shop and restaurant.
Address of the station: 301 S. Choctaw El Reno, OK US 73036
