The Whittington Park area has been used by Ardmore residents since 1887, and was officially made a city park in 1902.
Whittington Park is over two city blocks square. It is bounded by 4th and 5th Streets, and G and Park Streets in the southeast part of Ardmore. The land is flat and grassed and there are pavilions,restrooms, a tennis court, three basketball courts, a playground and a splash pad to provide fun for all.
The park is open dawn to dusk, and the splash pad has posted hours of: May 1 to October 1 from11-8 Mon-Sat and 1-8 on Sunday.
The pavilions can be rented by calling 580-223-4844. The office hours are from 7:00am to 6:00pm seven days a week.
